The Speaker: Kevin Seeber

      In todays class Kevin Seeber presented his presentation on publishing. I thought it was a really great presentation on how copyright and publishing work in the world, especially on our campus at CSU-Pueblo. I also thought it was interesting on how he spoke about Harvard University and how the students that attend their don't pay tuition because their school is so rich and they have billionaires donating billions of dollars to their school. Man I wish I could attend so I didn't have to worry about paying back school loans and things like that. Kevin I thought spoke about the real importannt things of copyright and publishing. The forms that he presented in class in the many paperwork you have to fill out and sign before publishing your work, I thought was quite interesting because publishing work I thought you had to sign a lot of things requiring the law and many other important documents.

      In today's world technology has increased temendously. Apple the number one capital of technology has gave technology another  name for what they do for our world, that also refers to other technology like the new kindle and the internet of course. Technology I feel is the new medium in our society today. I say because nobody really reads the paper anymore because the world has moved to a new medium in the world. Companies that have stopped making money because the internet has provided them with so much access I think they stop complaining, and capitalize on the added exposure that piracy provides by making money through touring, merchandise sales, and yes, the sale of some of their music to people who still want CDs or prefer to buy their music online. Back in the day newspapers were the first medium of technology and they were making so much money in their newspaper companies , in todays world newspaper companies today need to accept that their content is never again going to be worth what they wanted it to be when it first came out.

 

   Overall I think this article was a very good learning provider, because out world is changing every year and almost every day and as we speak. Technology is becoming more than what we can handle I feel because it has grown so much and progressed throughout the years and we as a society have to move with technology and grow with it.
